Estate Agents Spend More With Web Portals Replacing The Overseas Property Exhibition

There has been a sharp increase in the amount that estate agents both in the overseas property industry and indeed the UK domestic market, are spending with the top web portals.

Both rightmove and findaproperty have seen increases over the last two months and have taken this as a sign that the market is on the way back both in the UK and abroad.

This positive sentiment saw rightmove’s share price rise 17p to 542p in early trading. A spokesman for the portal said “the increase came because each agent was advertising more properties for sale and taking up new display advertising products while Rightmove had increased agency listing fees” .

John Reilly of Buy Abroad stated that “it is true that across the board companies have been looking to increase their on-line advertising. This form of reaching customers has become even more important with the decline of the overseas property industry staple of the exhibition, with only A Place In The Sun showing any signs of continuing with this form of marketing” .
